The Veoliaforce volunteer is a Veolia employee made available to the Foundation to share their skills with a partner organization.
They are deployed during working hours, either remotely or in the field.
They act on behalf of the Veolia Foundation for the benefit of non-profit or humanitarian partners. They bring their expertise (water, sanitation, waste management, logistics, IT, HR, etc.) to address a specific need.
They may be deployed on missions lasting several weeks after receiving training in humanitarian emergency response and the operation of response equipment designed by the Foundation. Remotely, they may be called upon on an ad hoc basis or over the long term at the request of the Foundation's partner organizations to bring about lasting improvements to the living conditions of the most vulnerable.
The Foundation coordinates and covers logistics and travel expenses; the Veoliaforce volunteer continues to receive their regular salary just as if they were performing their normal duties.
What about ERUs? Veoliaforce volunteers can be assigned to the French Red Cross—a long-standing partner of the Veolia Foundation—to join their Emergency Response Units (ERU). A notable example is the response following the September 2023 earthquake in Morocco.

For which missions?
Since its creation in 2004, the Veolia Foundation has conducted expert missions in Pakistan, Haiti, Lebanon, Bangladesh, Myanmar, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)...
As a Veolia Group employee, the sponsor serves as the link between the partner organization leading the project and the Foundation.
- They meet regularly with the project leader and verify the relevance of their initiative against the Foundation's criteria;
- They evaluate the technical and financial feasibility of the project and support the project leader throughout the preparation of their application for support;
- They follow up on the project through to its final review.
