It will blend in with village life, not disrupt it. Unfortunately, some of the initiatives undertaken in Burkina Faso are carried out in a disorganized way. » > > Jean-Pierre Thévenon Burkina Faso's education index is below 25%, one of the factors that put it into 175th place out of 177 countries in the Human Development Index of the United Nations. A few HEC students wanted to change that so they got together and created Ouaga as a way of bringing lasting improvement in education to the country. ![](/sites/g/files/dvc3696/files/styles/crop_freeform/public/asset/image/imported-pictures/8044%2Craw%2C261_burkina_0.jpg.webp?h=b9affb6b&itok=eDm5hIvr "A school belonging to a whole village 8044,raw,261_burkina.jpg") After succeeding in getting one school built in the village of Pissila, in 2004, Ouaga is going back to work in 2006, this time, in Korsimoro, a small town in an impoverished region in the north-central part of the country. There, the organization concentrated on the final stage in the school's construction: improvements to existing rooms. A well, lunchroom and three new classrooms (one of which is a library) have been added to the initial project.
