Before the Veolia Foundation set up its logistics platform there, the building was used by La Poste to house a fleet of electric bicycles. Next This platform, inaugurated by the Veolia Foundation on June 11 in the presence of around 30 people, is central to the development of its humanitarian actions. The missions carried out with NGO partners involve mobilizing Veoliaforce experts in skills sponsorship and equipment designed for this type of intervention. Aquaforces, mobile water purification units, Saniforce, a low-carbon solution for treating fecal sludge, and mobile analysis laboratories are regularly transported and deployed to intervention sites. Once the emergency is over, the equipment is reconditioned for further deployment in other locations. It's not always visible, but a lot goes on behind the scenes. Part of the humanitarian chain is played out here, and it's an essential link: one mistake, one piece of equipment missing from the crate that's being shipped, and that means several hours lost in the field when water needs to be produced urgently.” David Poinard Executive Officer, Veolia foundation Easy access to airports via expressways was a determining factor in choosing the Savigny-le-Temple business park. The aim is to be responsive when a humanitarian partner expresses a need. The premises are also likely to host training sessions for Veoliaforce volunteers, experts who give up their working time to provide skills sponsorship. This logistics platform is the first link in a network of hubs deployed by the Veolia Foundation to pre-position appropriate materials and equipment around the world.
